Green (515 nm) direct diode laser now available from Omicron!

News

With 515 nm and 25 mW output power is Omicron Laserage now releasing the world's first commercially available directly modulatable laser with green light!

This technological breakthrough enables the use of fast modulatable (up to 500 MHz) diode lasers also in the green wavelength range, making acousto-optical modulators redundant*. We expect this 515 nm laser with 25 mW output power in the beam, especially in the compact LuxX and PhoxX models, to become popular in a number of life science applications, such as fluorescence microscopy, where intensity modulation typically is used. And due to Omicron's proprietary high-end optical design, the astigmatism is eliminated resulting in an excellent beam profile and focus quality.

The laser is already in production at Omicron's site in Rodgau, please contact us for details.

Other new wavelengths and power levels also being launched at Photonics West 2011 are:

395 nm - 120 mW

415 nm - 120 mW

425 nm - 120 mW

445 nm - 100mW

457 nm - 100 mW

460 nm - 100 mW

473 nm - 80 mW

488 nm - 80 mW

(* For higher power levels and longer wavelengths, DPSS lasers, e.g. from Cobolt, will of course continue to be used in combination with external modulators for imaging applications. )
